After an exciting week, we’re happy to report that the 43rd annual IAPC conference in Paris, France was a tremendous success. This year’s conference, “Campaigns without Borders,” focused on the implications of managing campaigns in a globalized world.
Nathan had the honor of moderating a panel on the “Politics of the Olympics.” The panelists included: Lord Moynihan, an Olympic silver medal winner and Chairman of the British Olympics Association, David Spiegel, a litigation associate who was closely involved with Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Summer Olympics and Bob Penner, who is the president and CEO of Canadian based Strategic Communications Inc. and a key figure in Vancouver’s bid for the 2010 Winter Olympics. The panelists highlighted how politics continues to both corrupt and enrich the Olympic experience. The panelists also spoke about how the global recession affects the Olympic bidding process. Their presentations were extremely insightful and well received.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s conference in Istanbul.
