Strategy & Client Services Intern

We’re seeking candidates for a non-traditional, paid internship to work within our Strategy & Client Services team this upcoming Fall Semester. You will collaborate with an award-winning team of strategists, designers, developers, and operations gurus as high-profile projects evolve from planning and research stages to the final product.

Our ideal candidates want to learn more about digital strategy (communications, advocacy, and marketing) and already has some technical knowledge, excellent research and writing skills, as well as the ability to think creatively in a team environment.

The perfect intern would also want to learn from our in-house practitioners, ask questions, collaborate fully, and work in a fast-moving environment where the quality of work is paramount, and the opportunity to grow is large.  

Desired Skills and Experience


  • Must have a college degree or currently be enrolled in school
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Basic knowledge of WordPress and/or Drupal content management systems
  • Experience with social media platforms and backend analytics
  • Know your way around spreadsheets

Bonus points

  • Understanding of HTML
  • Knowledge of AP style
  • Passion for creative design and communications
  • Astute follower of current events in Washington, DC and beyond
  • A sense of humor
  • Not afraid of work, deadlines and pandas

What You’ll Do Here

  • Create analytics and strategy reports
  • Monitor client websites and providing in-depth analysis
  • Dream up good, creative ideas for clients
  • Draft website content, memos, and reports
  • Research client projects
  • Website content management
  • Event production and management
  • Assist with office organizational tasks
  • Periodically man the NJI HQ phones
  • Run the occasional errand
