Here at NJI, our creative teams are always looking for an opportunity to challenge themselves and develop new skills. With summer slowly coming to an end, we thought it would be fun to create content based around our team member’s favorite 2019 summer cocktails – so sit back, relax, and read about our refreshing and creative concoctions!

Our video team embarked on this process by first gathering the supplies needed for each drink and coming up with a strategy to execute and emphasize these action shots. Their main goal was to provide our design team with enough high-quality photos to put an aesthetically pleasing final image together, differentiating style or look across all four drinks.

How did the video team manage to capture each ingredient perfectly in these photos? Each ingredient was thrown in the air utilizing different motions, which created varying flight paths. “To capture each object sharply, we used a high camera shutter speed and compensated with additional light from a large and soft source,” stated Sophia Okorn.

Roughly 400+ photos for each cocktail were then broken down into 50 “selects” that were color graded and sent to the design team. Our designers sifted through each photo and selected the different ingredients to add to the final action shot. It took time, collaboration, and diligent photoshop work to bring the concepts to life.

A glimpse into the editing process is below…
