Say what you want about them, but every spring when the tourists start to flock to D.C., patriotism starts to fill the air. NJI’s been feeling the spirit.
Flag Day is tomorrow, June 14. 237 years since Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes.
Looking at it as a creative agency, the flag of the United States is kinda incredible. With all the changes this country’s experienced in its history the flag has been changed to fit, without compromising its core; and it’s still practically an infographic.
While we didn’t touch our nation’s flag, we did start to daydream on how we would design a flag. We looked to the states.
With an eye to the deep traditions and heritage displayed on current state flags, we gave a shot at rebranding the 50 states. Check it out at UnitedWeBrand.us.
Here’s a look:
New York
The iconic image of the American bald eagle with outstretched wings features prominently on the New York state flag and state seal. As such, it seemed fitting to represent the eagle as the central design element for the New York state flag. Beneath the eagle, a banner displays the New York State motto, “Excelsior” (translated from Latin as “Ever Upward”).
