Global Gaming Women is an organization powered by the American Gaming Association. Global Gaming Women uses programs, scholarships, networking events and mentorships to support the success of women in the international gaming industry, and further improve their professional lives. Their message is clear, and they wanted to be sure their website was just as current and informative.
The goal of redesigning the Global Gaming website was primarily to provide important resources and updated event information in an effective, clean and modern fashion.
The homepage is bright and bold, and immediately draws your attention to all that GGW has to offer. The visitor is introduced to their primary tenets: scholarships, events, mentor programs and conferences. The blue and pink gradient gives the site a feminine flair, while also boldly displaying the site’s most valuable features.
During the initial design process, our teams discussed the importance of the Events page. These events were the crux of the organization, and it was crucial that this page clearly visualized both upcoming and past events, while also including image galleries and ways for the visitor to easily register. The final result is as beautiful as it is functional. The upcoming events are displayed in a carousel, the calendar clearly displays the future events in chronological order, and the past event posts can be easily browsed to find resources and recaps.
The Tools page on the new GlobalGamingWomen.org provides the visitors with a wealth of resources, such as recommended books and Webinars, as well as helpful “Coffee Break” videos. The Coffee Break videos include women in leadership giving quick, one-minute professional insights. These videos play in a lightbox so visitors can click and play, then easily navigate out, and continue browsing more videos.
An important feature of the site is its mobile-friendliness. With the ever-changing features such as the event calendar and news and updates, the new GlobalGamingWomen.org needed to be responsive on mobile devices for visitors on the go. This responsive design encourages visitors to explore the site on any device with ease.
The shiny new GlobalGamingWomen.org is more than just a pretty website. It is an important resource to encourage women in gaming to connect and learn with one another. This resrouce is a gateway for visitors looking to grow their skills and network with fellow members of the gaming community.
