Our Chief Panda Officer, always near the genesis of an inspired idea (or cocktail), often recalls Marcel Proust’s wit for answering Victorian parlor game questions. Pixel has traveled far from the salons of Paris, but her interest remains piqued in which questions truly reflect a person’s character. Packing just the right amount of punch, NJI created The Pixel Questionnaire to give a glimpse into the inner workings of some of our most intriguing minds.
Beachside with piña coladas in hand, our intrepid panda reporter sat down with London-based Project Manager Laura Mawson to consider which 1980s fashions should make a come back and what inspires this tenacious strategist.
What is your spirit animal?
Panther
If you could breed two animals together, what would they be?
A parrot + giraffe. Now wouldn’t that be funky?
If you had a superpower?
I’ve always loved the idea of flying.
What is your most unusual talent?
Walking like a crab.

When I’m planning big surprises…
If not yourself, who would you be?
A mermaid.
If you could jump into a pool of something, what would it be?
Reese peanut butter cups or milano cookies.
What would you do if you got stuck in an elevator?
If I was stuck in an elevator with a friend and stranger (and we didn’t have any food), I would probably say to the stranger, “there’s two of us and only one of you so surely that means we can eat you?”
What is your favorite drink?
Piña colada, every time.
If a movie were made about your career, what would be the title?
How a Dancer Transitioned Into a Marketer.
You’ve been given an elephant. What do you do?
Feed it something delicious, have a pamper sesh, and then ride it to work.
If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Sweet + savoury pancakes — you get the best of both worlds.
Your most treasured possession?
Probably my AirPods. Music is always my go-to.
What’s the greatest length you’ve gone to for a client?
Worked on an RFP event pitch deck for 24 hours straight (no sleep included).
Do you have any superstitions?
Breaking mirrors + walking over three drains.
If you could go back in time, where would you go?
The 80’s! For the music and fashion.
What is something you hate but wish you loved?
Ab workouts — they’re a killer every.single.time.

I have gnome idea?
If you joined the circus, what would your circus act be?
Would have to be an aerial silk dancer or a fire breather.
What one object do you take with you on a desert island (you have water and food already)?
Sunscreen — everything is better with a tan *dreams about next vacation.*
