An online showroom to serve and empower a national trade association
The automobile industry runs on speed, style, and innovation. The American International Automobile Dealers Association’s website needed to reflect these qualities, while providing timely, substantive information to new and prospective members. With a short window of time before AIADA’s annual conference, we jumped in.
AIADA, the national trade association for 9,500 international auto dealers, views its website as a high-quality showroom to empower members and other stakeholders with valuable information about policy, legislation, news, and trends.
Two priorities emerged: optimizing the site’s usability for members and redesigning the “What is an American Car” map, a key resource depicting the industry’s domestic manufacturing and job creation impact. We were tasked with making the map more dynamic and exciting, in line with AIADA’s new look.
Pairing Legacy Style With Modern Innovation
Our strategy was to combine an aesthetic that subtly alludes to the legacy of the international automobile with functionality that emphasizes top initiatives and noteworthy content. We leveraged the customization power of a Drupal platform to replace a text-heavy format with a modern user interface and strong color palette. Visual elements include shapes and gradients that indicate movement, accented with punches of bright color.
Empowering users with actionable information is central to AIADA’s mission. The new site supports that objective with a streamlined user experience that improves engagement, while allowing AIADA’s team to easily update every detail. A dynamic digital presence elevates AIADA’s brand and reinforces its authority and advocacy for an essential industry.
