VacationBetter is the premiere web resource for vacation ownership information. The timeshare landscape has evolved, and the redesigned VacationBetter.org offers a fresh perspective, dispelling myths and skepticism surrounding vacation ownership.

NJI Media worked with the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) to completely reimagine their VacationBetter initiative by executing a redesigned web presence, a fresh rebrand and a comprehensive branding guideline document.

Working with NJI to develop a website for our association was a breeze from start to finish. Their customer service, creative vision, and technological efficiency gave us a site that surpassed our high expectations in looks and functionality.

Breaking Through

In recent years, timeshare developers and exchanges have suffered a lack of understanding of new vacation ownership products among the general public. ARDA expressed a need for the new VacationBetter to be a safe place for prospective owners, new owners and long-time owners to find professional information without the pressure of a sales pitch.

Define

CHARTING A NEW COURSE

During the Define phase, ARDA and NJI worked to better describe how the advanced role of the timeshare industry could be communicated in a website design. NJI set out to create a friendly environment with credible, approachable messaging and engaging, useful tools. We avoided the dense text of previous versions of the site and focused on using the wealth of destination imagery ARDA had access to.

Design

DEFINING THE BRAND

After crafting a new logo that would represent a new direction for VacationBetter, NJI produced a comprehensive branding document that defines guidelines for future use of the logo and establishes the VacationBetter visual style. The goal of this process was to ensure that the VacationBetter brand could potentially be extended while maintaining a singular visual point of view.

A FRESH APPEAL

The VacationBetter website redesign was an opportunity to reinvent the visual style of travel-related content. Typically, vacation sales visuals are cluttered and aggressive, and imagery is hyper-saturated. By slightly cooling down images and using spacious, minimal layouts, the tone became more approachable and the messaging became more digestible.

DEVELOP

CLARITY & USABILITY

In order to allow ARDA to easily and continuously update VacationBetter content, NJI utilized the Wordpress CMS platform for the site redesign. By creating a series of customizable content modules, NJI made it easy for ARDA's content creators to continue to offer new, engaging information to their audience.

Working within a tight timeline, NJI utilized several developers working in tandem to execute a complex development process. Their efforts culminated in the deployment of a forward-thinking take on ARDA's compelling VacationBetter.org initiative.
