NJI Media Located in a Best Downtown of 2014

All of us at NJI Media start the day walking down South Union Street before we walk up the steps of The Warehouse. We’re welcomed by the sunny atrium, wall o’ snacks, and rustic wood interior of our building. In this case, though, it’s not just what’s inside that counts, it’s what’s outside that counts too.

Our big blue door faces a neighborhood that inspires us as we’re coming and going. And now that it’s spring, we’ll spend a little more time in Old Town Alexandria, which was just named one of the top 10 Best Downtowns in America by Livability.

Here’s what Livability has to say for the importance of an electric downtown area:

“The best downtowns foster creativity, inclusion and innovation. They showcase what is good about a community by offering a diverse array of local architecture, art, lifestyles and things to do. We’re always inspired by Alexandria for reasons that include bubbles blowing by our windows, colonial era architecture, street performers belting opera and rock covers, the tides of the nearby Potomac River, and the overall vibe of tourists, parents, professionals and locals alike walking these historied streets.
