Our Chief Panda Officer, always near the genesis of an inspired idea (or cocktail), often recalls Marcel Proust’s wit for answering Victorian parlor game questions. Pixel has traveled far from the salons of Paris, but her interest remains piqued in which questions truly reflect a person’s character. Packing just the right amount of punch, NJI created The Pixel Questionnaire to give a glimpse into the inner workings of some of our most intriguing minds.
Pixel popped open a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon with Executive Services Coordinator Kristin Whitaker. After expressing their shared love for a smooth sip of red wine and Will Ferrell’s wit, the pair settled into cozy couch cushions to dish about what inspires this joyous panda.
If you had a superpower?
The power to control time. Life can be hectic and my children are growing too quickly.
On what occasions do you lie?
When my kids ask if we are there yet.
Your most treasured possession?
A coffee cup I grew up watching my Mother drink from each morning.
What would you do if you got stuck in an elevator?
I would love to be able to say I could open the panel and fix the wiring, but I realistically know my limitations.
If not yourself, who would you be?
A professional soccer player in their prime.
What is your favorite drink?
Wine with a wine chaser.
If you could go back in time, where would you go?
Noah’s Ark. (and swat the two flies)
If a movie were made about your career, what would be the title?
Balancing It All With a Smile.

Fabulous, and entertaining in other people’s yards.
You’ve been given an elephant. What do you do?
Research how to take care of an elephant and hope it lets me steal a hug or two.
What one object do you take with you on a desert island (you have water and food already)?
A tent.
What was the last gift you got someone?
A scrapbook I made.
What is your most unusual talent?
I can blow multiple bubbles inside bubbles with chewing gum.
If you could breed two animals together, what would they be?
I have to go with a lion and a tiger. I mean, c’mon — have you seen Napoleon Dynamite?
If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pasta.
What is something you hate but wish you loved?
Oysters.
What is something you get wrong every time you try?
Juggling more than twice in a row. Check back again next year because I’m still trying.
Who would you like to sit next to on a 10 hour flight?
Will Ferrell.
If you joined the circus, what would your circus act be?
Definitely the elephant show, considering I have recently been given an elephant.
If you could jump into a pool of something, what would it be?
Tiramisu, without a doubt.
If you could talk to one species of animals, which one would it be?
A shark. The beach is one of my truest loves and sharks are definitely one of my greatest fears. The answer for how to safely combine the two would be priceless.
Who inspires you?
Positive people. They make mundane tasks enjoyable, and wonder at things others may take for granted.
What’s the greatest length you’ve gone to for a client?
Coordinating the delivery of a client birthday gift during a pandemic.
If NJI were a television show or movie, what would it be?
The Odd Couple.
Who will Pixel interview next? The subject is yet to be revealed, but your patience will be rewarded. She always has the most unexpected ideas.
