Over 16 years, NJI has established a reputation for solving complex public affairs challenges through fully orchestrated, creative solutions that engage global audiences.

Most recently, CEO Monthly honored NJI CEOs and Founders Nathan Imperiale and Josh Shultz with the Advertising CEO of the Year 2023–Virginia award. NJI was also recently listed in the PRNEWS 2024 Agency Elite Top 100 list.

Nathan and Josh have revolutionized public affairs through their unique approach to best-in-class creative. After eight years of working with policymakers in Washington, DC, and establishing the first digital media offices serving the House of Representatives, they saw a need for a public-facing creative agency specializing in trade associations, corporations, and nonprofits. Since then, the founders’ ability to cultivate relationships, build networks, and identify emerging trends has driven 20% year-over-year growth.

The agency’s core values—Give a Damn, Make it Personal, and Never be Satisfied—are deeply ingrained into NJI’s culture and serve as the foundation for the agency’s relationships with clients, partners, and employees. Because how teams work together is as important as what they create, NJI emphasizes mutual respect, kindness, and integrity. Certifications as an LGBT-owned business and an employer of veterans further exemplify NJI’s commitment to equal opportunity, and women comprise more than 60% of the team. This dedication to diversity and inclusivity fosters a robust creative atmosphere defined by wide-ranging skills and perspectives.

As a leadership team, Nathan and Josh prioritize accountability, adaptability, effective communication, strong client focus, and skillful problem-solving. Leaning into their strengths and embracing accountability have enabled the two to successfully grow and scale NJI into an increasingly global footprint, now present in London and Singapore in addition to Alexandria, VA.

Most recently, the agency has embraced generative artificial intelligence and advanced virtual production—technologies that revolutionize content production and consumption and, in turn, allow NJI to push creative boundaries.
